In coaching classes and seminars you hear a lot about gaining clarity. What is clarity when it comes to your business? Clarity is knowing exactly what direction you want to take your business, it’s understanding your goals and your audience. It’s knowing how best to reach your potential clients in such a way that they instantly resonate with your message.
Wendi and I have been through this process many times ourselves. We know first hand how difficult—and rewarding—it can be. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve gotten that pesky little feeling that something wasn’t working right and had to stop and dig deep into an issue to get to the root of the problem. Sometimes it means a few minor adjustments, other times, it means scrapping everything and starting over fresh.
Websites are no different. Clarity is a good thing when it comes to building, or rebuilding, your website. But what do you do when you know something’s wrong and you can’t quite put your finger on what?
Not All Designers Are Equal
The first thing you do is find a professional who can help. You start by asking around for a designer. You’ll get referrals, look at portfolios and admire a lot of pretty sites. Eventually you’ll find someone you want to work with.
You’ll get a new site and you’ll be happy with it. For a while….that is until a couple months or years down the road you realize you’ve outgrown your site again, or the new site wasn’t functioning as well as you expected.
Then you have to start the process all over again.
Why does this happen? Because many design companies out there are just that…design companies. They aren’t interested in coaching you through what you really need to make your site successful and give it longevity. They may give you what you want but they won’t give you what you need.
Could be that some designers are afraid to tell you what you really need. That could entail telling you some of your choices are not in your best interest, or selling you more than you need just so they can get your business.
Not every designer has gone through years of business coaching either. They don’t understand the terminology, or the fact you’ll need your message to span across freebies, ezines, sales pages, and products for the next several years.
Whether you’re starting with a website, a freebie or an ezine, you’re building your brand and everything else you do will stem from that foundation.
This Is What We Do
Over the last several weeks Wendi and I have noticed a disturbing trend among our Facebook groups. There are still some people who don’t know what we do.
So…here it is. This is what we do. At Blue Sun we combine a unique blend of coaching and design. What does that mean for you? You don’t have to wait until you’re 100% clear on what you want before you talk to us because we will help you through that process.
Yes! It’s true! You don’t have to wait.
You say you already have a coach? That’s fine. We’ve worked with a lot of them ourselves and understand how their programs work, there’s no need to abandon one for another. Continue to work with your current coach while you work with us to develop your unique branding message and look.
